Tuesday, October 22nd

Today we finally started investigating our pumpkins! First students shared what we already know about pumpkins - what they are used for, how they grow, etc. Then we read a book about pumpkins and the pumpkin life cycle, and learned a song to help us remember each stage! We watched a time-lapse video of a pumpkin growing to see each stage in real life. We also learned about some of the uses for pumpkins that we didn't already know. See if your child can remember! Also ask your child if they can remember the 6 stages of the life cycle (hint: seed, sprout, vine, flower, green pumpkin, orange pumpkin).

Next we drew the stages in our visual journals. Students did a great job using their science brains to look closely at the details and do their best to sketch each stage.

Miss Schafer's group had music and gym this morning. Miss Aebli's group explored centers. The PM group had centre time as well.
