Wednesday, October 2nd

Today we started our day by reading a counting book. We learned that there are SO many things we can count in our day-to-day lives! Some examples were the buttons on our shirt, the table-settings at the dinner table, the stairs in our house, and the fingers and toes of all the people in our family. What can you count with your child at home?

Next we learned a BIG math word! Ask your child if they can remember what it means to SUBITIZE (hint: seeing a number on a dice/hand etc. and knowing the number without having to count using our fingers). We practiced our subitizing skills by playing a game! We rolled a dice and subitized the number, and then placed a block on that number on our number card. We kept rolling until we covered all numbers! Then we got to play against a partner to see who covered their game board first!

Miss Schafer's AM group had centre time. Miss Aebli's group went to gym and music!

The PM group also finished their Orange Shirt Day activity from earlier this week. They had gym too!

REMINDERS: Please check your child's communication bag for a note about a special family project we will be starting later this month!

This Friday is a PM day.
