Happy November! Time is flying by!

For Mindful Monday today, we practiced relaxation (letter 'R' in our ABC: Mindful Me book). We listened to a video that guided us through some movements to stretch and relax our muscles.

Next, we talked about Remembrance Day. Some of us had heard of it before, and some of us had not. We learned that November 11th is a day to remember those who were brave, and who made sacrifices to keep us safe. We talked about how during the war, many poppies grew in the fields nearby which brought soldiers a little bit of happiness during a time of sadness. We wear a poppy to help us remember those brave men and women.

Then we watched a video that told us a little more about the poppy and what it symbolizes. After, we watched a guided drawing video and followed along to draw our own poppies in our visual journals.

Miss Aebli's group went to gym. We practiced balancing, hopping, and had time for a tag game. Miss Schafer's group practiced some movement skills in the classroom as well. The PM group had gym with Mrs. O!

There were many exciting changes in the classrooms today! Students noticed new centres that they will get to explore sometime this week. Also - the pumpkin plants in both classes started to SPROUT! We are excited to watch their growth!
