Wednesday, November 13th

Happy Wednesday!

Since we missed "Mindful Monday" this week, the AM classes decided to take a moment think mindfully, while also enjoying the nice weather we have today! The PM group will get to do this activity on Friday.

We started by reading the story "Deep Snow" by Robert Munsch, and then had a chat about our job outside. Students were tasked to mindfully use their senses to think about changes they were seeing compared to the last time we went outside. We made our way out and shared our ideas.

Some ideas shared were that we could now see "the snowballs", "the geese migrating", "the trees with no more leaves". We were actually lucky enough to see numerous flocks of geese flying overhead...look closely at the picture below to see them!

We could also hear "the geese honking", and the snow and ice crunching under our feet when we walked across the field. We felt a chillier breeze, but could still feel the sunshine! After we talked about what our senses noticed, students had a little bit of time to engage in winter outdoor play.

Miss Aebli's class went to music and gym with Mrs. O this morning, while Miss Schafer's AM group explored centres. The PM group finished working on their letter F page in their journals, and then had some centre time before gym.
