Happy Thursday!
Don't forget to ask your child about the kindness story of the day! We are reading one every day in February for Kindness Month!
The letter of the day today was R! We learned what sound this letter makes and then watched a few videos to help us brainstorm R words. We noticed that R looks a lot like another letter we have already learned! Ask your child what other letter R looks like! We realized that we just had to add a "slide" to that letter to turn it into an R.
After we printed our letter Rs, we thought about some of the words we had brainstormed...one word we talked about was RAINBOW. We watched some videos to learn more about rainbows and how they are made (HINT: the simplified explanation is that rain and sunshine meet in the sky☺). How many colours are in a rainbow? What are the colours? Can your child remember what order they go in? What shape does a rainbow make?
Next we made our own rainbows using paint! It was a longer job that took many steps but we did a GREAT job! Check out some of our AWESOME rainbows!
Miss Aebli's AM group had centre time. Mrs. G's AM group had gym! The PM group had music and centre time.
REMINDERS:
Tomorrow is an AM day!
Students will have an opportunity to hand out Valentines if they wish, on Wednesday February 12th.
No School on February 13th, 14th, or 17th.
